How To Install an SSL Certificate?

Rayname provides free 90-day SSL certificates for eligible domains. Follow the steps below to request and activate your certificate.
Before You Start
Before requesting an SSL certificate:
- Make sure your domain is registered with Rayname.
- Your domain must use Rayname DNS.
- Your DNS records should be configured correctly and already point to your website.
Step 1: Create a New SSL Certificate
- Log in to your Rayname account.
- Navigate to Free SSL.
- Click Create Free SSL Certificate.
- Enter your domain name. [ E.g: yourdomain.com ]
- Click Next Step.
Step 2: Choose the verification method.
Automatic Verification
Automatic verification is available when:
- The domain is managed by Rayname.
- The domain is using Rayname DNS.
If the requirements are met:
- Select Automatically Complete Verification.
- Click Verify Domains.
Rayname will automatically complete the verification process.
DNS Verification
If automatic verification is unavailable:
- Select DNS (CNAME) verification.
- Add the DNS record provided by Rayname.
- Save the DNS changes.
- Return to the SSL page and verify the domain.
DNS changes may take time to take effect.
Step 3: Wait for Certificate Issuance
After submitting your verification request, RayName will automatically process your SSL certificate.
Check Certificate Status
- Click the User icon in the top-right corner.
- Select My SSL .
- Find your certificate request.
Status meanings:
- Pending Verification – Verification is in progress.
- Issued – Your SSL certificate has been successfully issued.
Most certificates are issued within a few minutes after verification is completed.
Step 4: Install the Certificate
Once the certificate has been issued:
- Open the SSL certificate details page.
- Download the certificate files if required.
- Install the certificate on your hosting platform or web server.
Common hosting environments include:
- cPanel
- Plesk
- NGINX
- Apache
- AWS
- Hostinger
